Social Media Management & Event Promotion: The Pyrle Theater
Building a fan base before the doors opened
The Pyrle is Greensboro's newest live music venue, opened in February 2026 at 232 S. Elm Street. Purple Rudder took over its social media in December 2025, three months before opening night, with a small following and no shows on sale yet.
The challenge
A venue that doesn't exist yet is a hard thing to sell. The Pyrle needed to sell memberships and its first concerts before anyone had set foot inside. That meant building an audience from almost nothing, fast, and giving Greensboro a reason to care.
Our approach
We treated the build-out as the story. Instead of waiting for opening night, we brought people inside the construction: the new marquee, the sound system install, the view from every seat.
Behind-the-scenes reels to reach new people. Our reel on the venue's new Meyer Sound system reached an audience that was 87% new to The Pyrle. The marquee reveal reel drew 22,000 views and 200+ new followers in a week.
Carousels to deepen engagement. Carousel posts kept existing followers interacting between big announcements.
Local partnerships. A collaboration with Gate City Guide reached 36,000 views and introduced The Pyrle to an established Greensboro audience.
A launch countdown. Membership deadlines, the lineup reveal, and the on-sale date each got their own push. The lineup announcement alone drew 21,000 views and 145 new followers.
The results
In December 2025 alone, Instagram views grew 1,000%, and Instagram followers grew more than 680%. By the time tickets went on sale in January, the launch campaign had driven strong membership and ticket sales for 23 shows across 10+ genres, all before the first concert.
Ten months in, The Pyrle has grown from about 1,200 followers to more than 15,300, with 4.9 million views and 221,000 engagements along the way.
