Meet the Captain
Mandy Bradshaw
Hey there! I’m Mandy, the Captain of the ship. I have been in marketing and advertising for 20 years and on social media for even longer – think Xanga & Myspace.
While keeping a pulse on organic social media growth, usage, and trends, my primary focus over the last 12 years has been on paid social media and digital advertising, with a focus on local and regional clientele.
Over the last decade, as social media usage has skyrocketed, a shift in user behavior within the buying cycle has emerged, underscoring the significant impact of social media on the decision-making process.
With the extra pressure social media now creates, many businesses struggle to navigate the ever-changing landscape, and that is where I come in. I am here to help your business navigate these rapids.
In my spare time, I teach and take yoga at Greensboro Power Studios, and on any given warm sunny weekend, you can find me wake surfing at Belews Lake.
Kate Matthews
Senior Content Strategist
Ahoy! I’m Kate, the Navigator of the crew (officially, Senior Content Strategist). I’ve been in marketing for over 15 years, starting back when brands were still figuring out what to do with a Facebook page.
My career has taken me from launching websites and social accounts for Polaroid Eyewear, to building local events and community buzz for lululemon, to leading content and social media for the Boy Scouts of America. Along the way, I’ve learned that great content is more than pretty posts. It’s a clear voice, a consistent look, and a strategy that turns followers into customers.
At Purple Rudder, I chart the course for your content, mapping out strategies that keep your brand on message and moving toward real results.
When I’m not plotting content calendars, you can find me teaching yoga at Greensboro Power Studios, where I’ve been on the mat since 2013.
Charlotte Murphy
Social Content Creator
Hi, I’m Charlotte, the crew's lookout (officially, Social Content Creator). I keep an eye on the horizon, tracking trends and spotting opportunities before they pass you by.
A Greensboro native and NC State graduate (summa cum laude, no less), I’ve been creating content for local businesses since I was filming TikToks for a boutique in high school. Since then, I’ve managed social media for brands and podcasts at KB Media, shot and styled content for a local jewelry brand, and run a campaign for Iconic Jewelers that boosted reach by 407%. From reels and photography to graphics and pitch decks, I love bringing a brand’s personality to life on screen.
At Purple Rudder, I create scroll-stopping content that keeps your brand fresh, on trend, and impossible to scroll past.
When I’m not on deck, you can find me at the barn riding horses!
